About the Role

Our client are a well known QLD state government agency responsible for providing transport infrastructure solutions for projects across Queensland. They are currently seeking an experienced A03 Project Costing Officer to come in and join their team based in Hemmant on an ongoing temp contract basis.

Candidates for this role must have strong SAP system experience, along with previous exposure in Accounts Payable, Payroll and Financial administration.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Data Entry, Costing, and Payroll Administration: Manage the entry of dissection sheets, financial costings, and process specific payroll allowances per agreements/awards.

  • Accounts Payable Management: Oversee the accounts payable cycle, including handling vendor queries, processing invoices, and statement reconciliation.

  • Monthly Internal Claiming (Invoicing): Generate and issue all necessary internal claims (invoicing) on a monthly basis.

  • General Ledger (GL) Journal Processing and Accrual Accounting: Process key financial entries, including EOM/WIP GL journals, and maintain the records for accrual accounting.

  • Work Guardian and Follow-up Coordination: Act as the work guardian, receiving tasks and ensuring follow-up with Supervisors and Project Managers as needed.


About You

You will be an experienced Project Costing Officer with proven experienced and reliability in previous roles.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience in accrual accounting, processing GL journals (EOM/WIP), and managing internal claiming/invoicing.
  • Competency in the full A/P cycle (queries, invoice processing, reconciliation) and accurately entering dissection sheets and financial costings.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP (and Mytime) relevant to financial functions (essential).
  • Ability to process specific payroll allowances in accordance with industrial awards (OPS, BEMES, Civil Construction).
  • Strong written and oral communication combined with excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to being located onsite at Hemmant with no work from home for the first 3 months.
